This is HTC 4G Sensation. Sound familiar? It should - you've probably just read Alex Dobie excellent overview of the European version of the Sensation HTC. That's why we say here now, T-Mobile. And there's a part of "4G" comes into play that you have access to T-Mobile (USA), HSPA +, which means a faster data transfer.
Feeling 4G also brings the latest HTC Android Sense 2.3.3. Let the people of gingerbread.
We're going to take a slightly different here 4G Sensation the second time around. Less clinical, more colorful. Again, go back and check the HTC Alex Sensation again. Read it. As for me? I was impressed. It will look like.
Hardware
Let's go back a bit '. I recently put the Nexus. They have not touched the week, in fact. There was always something of their own. Not so much a "Pure Google" experience, which is fine and all - I am a big fan of mobile developer - but it was the hardware that I fell in love. The right size, and that the 3.7-inch display. In all the curves in the right place, but can not take the abuse with the device is the most important bloggers smartphones.
Feeling 4G shows the Nexus (which was originally launched on T-Mobile Unlocked) stopped. Large flat glass front, behind the soft, full of curves. (Or if you prefer a mule. Business at the front, party in the back.)
Let's start with the screen. The specifications are not much better than this right now. You have 4.3 inches of real estate, with a QHD (540x960) resolution, which are all protected by Gorilla glass. We had great fun with a 4-inch screen, but we are not going down that extra three-tenths of an inch either. We have had mixed experiences with the highest resolution QHD. The Droid X2, it was disappointing. 4G to sensation? It works exactly. Pixels are packed tight enough that you will be hard to discern the individual points.
This is an interesting design feature here. And the more I think about it the more I believe that what they really stand out. Although the area of the visible screen is blank, the curves up ever so slightly, the body answers the phone. And 'only slightly concave, and you might not even notice it at first. Regardless of design or aesthetics of the subject which is quite attractive.
Capacitive buttons are on the bottom. The speaker grille (with revision lights) and a camera facing the top. Volume management and the microUSB port on the left frame. The standard rate. No HDMI output, but you can use an MMC adapter if desired. (Remember that the adapter manual handling is not on, so you get a telephone cable television, and other current power source on the phone. Boiteux.)
Remove the battery cover is a bit different in the sense of 4G. There is a small button to press the bezel down the phone. You can then lift the bottom of the battery cover and slide the phone from her. There are actually a little lip on the front of the feeling at the top. This is where the battery cover slide is in and get an overview of the headset speaker (actually much smaller than the network would have you believe), LED notification, and the camera face. Interesting stuff.
Reinstall the cover is easy. Slide the phone on, just click in the down position.
Software
Hallelujah, 4G feeling gingerbread works. Android 2.3.3, to be exact. And it's time to get the phones run the latest version of Android.
But it is important that it's not really what we are thrilled with the sensation. Instead, the new sense of 3.0, which will be to write home about.
If you are new to the smartphone thing, here's how it works: Android is an operating system. It feels a lot of "stock Android", which really just means that there is a lot of custom made home screen, menus, etc. HTC is flaying operating systems for years, and is really good it is. This mark is a series of large, easy to use widgets, as well as the analog clock moving sheets, which makes the HTC device instantly recognizable.
So what's so great about 3.0 Sense? First you notice is the screen of the new lock. (This allows you to edit it.) It's actually the same as we saw the HTC Flyer tablet, which is also a sense of 3.0. There is a large ring in the middle to lock the screen. Pull to open the phone. But what about those icons, you ask? These are customizable - you can choose which applications you want. To open one of those applications directly from the Lock screen, an icon of the slide in the ring. Piece of cake, and it is a good way to quickly get the camera, email, or any other application. Our only beef is that you are limited to four applications. We would like to see that doubled.
Sexy is. We'd love to see something like this on all Android phones. This is easily the best we've seen LockScreen is pre-loaded on a device.
As for the rest of Direction 3.0 - that's pretty much the same experience you get in earlier versions, only better. More refined. Transitions between home screens now have a nice 3D effect. It's cool, but nothing we have not seen on other launchers. And if you can flick your finger across the screen just right, you get a nice bit of rotational power. But it seems a bit contradictory, if it is actually working - and we prefer to simply use the Leap or browse one at a time where it will be that difficult.
The tray app abandoned forever and will instead run one screen. Still not a fan of him.
